The Ministry of Housing and New Urban Communities in Egypt is preparing to offer lands for the construction of cemeteries for Egyptians residing abroad for the first time in the ministry's history, with a dollar payment system.

The new offering aims to provide mixed-use lands and will be in the cities of New Cairo, Badr, Tenth of Ramadan and New October.

Sources at the Ministry of Housing said that the new proposal came in response to the wishes of Egyptians residing abroad, after requests for land for the construction of cemeteries rose in most of the new cities.

She stressed that the new offering will be paid in dollars, pointing out that all projects offered by the state to workers abroad are in dollars, to provide financial liquidity to the state, especially in light of the crisis the country is going through and the urgent need to provide hard currency.

She explained that the special conditions for the reservation of cemeteries will not differ much from the proposals carried out by the Ministry of Housing internally, pointing out that the pricing committee is currently working on determining the value of a square meter of land, and the price is expected to rise according to the ministry's latest proposal in this section.
