The winning work of the "NHK Posting Video Award", which is selected from the videos sent to broadcasting stations nationwide through NHK's video posting site "NHK Scoop BOX", was announced on the 24th.
The "NHK Contribution Video Awards" is given to videos with high news and topicality from the more than 30,000 videos sent to NHK by viewers last year.
This year, a total of 26 videos were selected in the three categories of "scoop video," "topic," and "region."
Of these, the video taken by Kiyoshi Kasai in Fukaura Town, Aomori Prefecture was selected as the highest award in the scoop video category.
The footage shows a fuel tank that a US military fighter jet that made an emergency landing at Aomori Airport last November dumped before landing and fell on a national road near a residential area.
Mr. Kasai heard from his friends that oil was spilling on the national highway, and when he rushed in, he found a tank.
Also, for the highest award in the topic category, last July, I took a picture of two white orca swimming side by side off the coast of Rausu, Hokkaido. ▽ With Makoto Kobayashi

Reports on white orca are rare in the world, and it is believed that it is the first time in Japan that two orca have been confirmed at the same time.
