It's a half-hearted victory, but a victory nonetheless for Patrick Sébastien.
The host-producer had turned to the Paris Commercial Court after his ousting from France Télévisions after 24 years on the air.
Justice recognized the “brutal rupture of the commercial relationship” on the part of the public service towards Magic TV, the production company of the artist.
However, as relayed by
Capital
, several charges by Patrick Sébastien have been invalidated.
The breach of the public service “in the principle of good faith in its conduct of contractual negotiations” or even of having “damaged the image” of its production company, were thus not retained.
To the call
As a result, the compensation estimated by the Commercial Court is far from the 26 million euros claimed by the plaintiff.
France Télévisions was ordered to pay 652,000 euros plus reimbursement of legal costs.
However, this decision does not seem to satisfy the public service, which wishes to appeal the judgment.
For his part, Patrick Sébastien did not comment and continues to perform on stage with the show he wrote,
Louis XVI.fr
, on tour throughout France.
