Progress has been made in the investigation into the crash of the Boeing 737-800 in China, which was carrying 132 people, with one of the black boxes found with major damage, the Civil Aviation Authority announced yesterday.

The plane, which was on the domestic flight "MU5735" of the East China Company, crashed on Monday on a mountainous plateau in Wazhou (south).

No survivors have been found so far from the plane crash.

A spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority of China, Liu Lusong, told reporters that one of the plane's black boxes had been found, noting that it was "very damaged."

Hundreds of firefighters, military personnel, doctors, volunteers and political officials are still working to search for any trace of passengers or their personal effects, and the second black box.
