Following the confirmation of wild boar infected with CSF and classical swine fever, which is an infectious disease of pigs, in Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has newly established pigs in pig farms in three prefectures in the Chinese region including Hiroshima prefecture. I decided to give a vaccination to prevent the infection of the wild boar.

On the other hand, this time, the inoculation in Kyushu, where the production of pigs is high, was postponed.

Classical swine fever is a highly contagious disease of pigs and wild boars. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, it does not infect humans, and even if it is eaten, it does not affect the human body.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries held a meeting of experts on the 23rd after a new infection with wild boar was confirmed in Yamaguchi Prefecture on the 17th and Hiroshima Prefecture on the 21st, and went to pigs. We considered whether to add an area for vaccination.

At the meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will newly add three prefectures, Hiroshima prefecture, Yamaguchi prefecture, and Shimane prefecture, which is adjacent to it, as inoculation areas for pigs, and in the three prefectures, vaccines contained in the diet for wild boar will also be sown. It was approved by showing the proposal.

Classical swine fever has been occurring one after another in pig farms from the Chubu region to Kanto and Okinawa prefecture for four years, and the area where pigs are vaccinated is 39 prefectures in total, but this time. , Kyushu, which produces a large amount of pigs, decided to prepare an inoculation plan without adding it to the area where the inoculation is performed.

In response to this, three prefectures, including Hiroshima Prefecture, will submit an inoculation plan to the national government and proceed with inoculation.
