Apple lost more than $10 million due to the actions of a former employee.

Federal prosecutors and the Internal Revenue Service have revealed that a former employee of ten years at Apple has been charged with defrauding the tech giant of more than $10 million by taking bribes, stealing equipment and laundering money.

Direndra Prasad, 52, worked for 10 years from 2008 to 2018 as a buyer in the company's global service supply chain division.

Prasad was responsible for purchasing spare parts and services from vendors.

He is currently charged with five counts of defrauding the tech company, revenue laundering, and tax evasion.

A federal criminal case alleges that he used his position to defraud the company of several schemes, including stealing parts and causing the company to pay for items and services it did not receive.
