Li Xiangzhi, a villager in Mocong Village, Conan Town, Teng County, Wuzhou City, Guangxi, never thought that the air crash happened next to his village.

On the afternoon of March 21, Beijing time, a Boeing 737 passenger plane of China Eastern Airlines lost contact over Teng County, Wuzhou City, Guangxi Province while on a flight from Kunming to Guangzhou.

Confirmed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the plane crashed in Teng County.

The crash site was located in a mountain pass in Modong Village. Li Xiangzhi, a villager in Modong Village, was one of the witnesses at the time.

"Around 2:20 in the afternoon, I heard a different roar of planes than usual. Usually we often hear and see planes passing by here, but this sound is different and very loud." Li Xiangzhi said, and then listened to it. To the loud explosion, smoke was seen rising from five kilometers away.

"Many villagers went to the place where the plane crashed after hearing the sound of the explosion. They could see all kinds of debris and cloth strips on the ground far away from the fire." Li Xiangzhi said.

From the confirmation of the plane crash until late at night, emergency and rescue forces in Guangxi, Guangdong and Yunnan have been gathering at the crash site.

The reporter drove to the highway in Tengxian County. From time to time, he encountered fire rescue vehicles going to rescue. When it arrived in Conan Town, it was already late, and the roadside was full of various rescue vehicles, and the lights kept flashing.

There are still six kilometers from Conan Town to the crash site. Due to the narrow and rugged mountain road, the villagers of Mocong Village spontaneously organized a motorcycle team of more than 60 people to carry rescue personnel free of charge.

Lee Sang-chi is one of them.

In Mozong Village at night, various rescue workers marched on the village road. There were no street lights, but various lights and torches brightened the entire village.

On March 22, on the outskirts of the China Eastern Airlines disaster, villagers spontaneously used motorcycles to transport relief supplies such as instant noodles, drinking water and tents to the rescue headquarters in Mochong Village, Tengxian Town, Wuzhou City, Guangxi.

Several staff members of China Unicom, who are rescue and communication supporters, each carrying a large circle of optical fibers, are rushing to the scene on foot.

In Modong Village, Guangdong Yunfu firefighters who arrived at the crash site earlier for rescue have withdrawn for a temporary rest.

They were leaning against the wall of the mud house in the village, half-lying to rest, their faces exhausted and reluctant to speak.

According to rescuers, debris and small aircraft parts were scattered everywhere at the crash site, scattered over a large area.

Due to the wildfire caused by the plane crash, there are large scorched marks at the scene.

At one o'clock in the morning on the 22nd, the rescue command center temporarily set up in Motong Village Primary School was brightly lit, and the firefighters in Wuzhou City, who had just been withdrawn from the rescue scene, were resting.

Some of them dozed against the wall, while others simply slept on the ground, with shovels, helmets and other rescue protective tools beside them.

On March 22, the reporter found through aerial photography that the crash site of the passenger plane was in a mountain col, and there was a large crater created by the impact on the hillside, with obvious burn marks.

On the ridge next to the big pit, there are many traces of the forest after being burned, and one of them is still smoking.

At 8:50 on the 22nd, the reporter went to the crash site along the machine farming road and there was still sunshine.

But after reaching the summit, clouds covered the sun, rain dripped from time to time, and the air cooled.

According to the forecast of the Guangxi Meteorological Observatory, a strong cold air has moved southward in the past two days.

At present, it has affected the local area, the temperature is gradually dropping, and light rain is falling, which may adversely affect the rescue work.

As of press time, the search and rescue work is still continuing.
