Known to be a jewel of the Ile-de-France, the castle of Pontchartrain, located in Jouars-Pontchartrain (Yvelines), will be transformed into luxury apartments.

The building, built in the 12th century, was bought for 7.5 million euros by the real estate company Azurel in 2019. A few months later, for an additional three million euros, it was the promoter Histoire & Patrimoine who acquired it, reports

.

Delivery in March 2024

Classified as a Historic Monument since 1979, the castle will be divided into 86 apartments, which have already been fully sold.

The park will also be laid out with a fitness trail, barbecue areas and even beehives, says Le Figaro.

Work should begin in April.

The apartments are expected to be delivered in March 2024.

Owners investing in a property classified as a Historic Monument benefit from a "totally uncapped tax benefit and renovation work is charged to taxable income at 100%", specifies the promoter.

A device contested by heritage defenders.
