Rachel Zegler was not invited to the Oscars

The lead actress of one of the biggest films of the year will not be going to the Oscars.

This may seem surprising, and yet, this is what is happening to Rachel Zegler.

version Steven Spielberg has indeed revealed on Instagram that she had not been invited by the Academy to attend the ceremony.

Commenting on a photo she had just posted on the network, fans of the star asked her what she was going to wear for the Oscars.

The answer surprised everyone.

"I'm not invited, so sweatpants and my boyfriend's shirt," she shot back.

“I know I've tried everything but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

I will encourage

from my couch and be proud of the work we did tirelessly three years ago, ”she adds, as relayed by ET.

A miracle ?

Without calling for help, Rachel Zegler seems in any case to hope that the situation will improve in the days to come.

“I hope a last minute miracle happens and I can celebrate our movie in person, but hey, that's how it goes sometimes I guess.

Thank you for your shocked and indignant reactions – I'm disappointed too.

But it does not matter.

I am so proud of our film,” she commented.

The remake of the Broadway musical and 1961 classic is nominated in several categories, including Best Picture.

The Academy of Oscars has yet to comment on the news.

The ceremony will take place on March 27.
