Nine, to be exact.
To the point of becoming
the most awarded internationally
in his first year of life.
From number one in our country to the most innovative, passing through the best show in Europe and even in the world.
It is the letter of introduction to this
monumental staging
that today begins its new season on the outskirts of Toledo, going through the history of Spain for more than 1,500 years through the most significant characters, periods and feats.
From El Cid to the Catholic Monarchs,
Christopher Columbus,
El Greco or Lope de Vega
.
From the arrival of the Muslims to the Reconquest or the War of Independence.
One of the period villages in the theme park.
Everything has a place in the
six Puy du Fou shows
, five of them daytime (
The last song, A feather and Spain, Falconry of kings, Beyond the ocean sea
and
The wander of the centuries
) and one at night,
The dream of Toledo
, the first one that premiered in the Castilian-La Mancha capital in 2019, two years before the
opening of the theme park
.
Given its success, there was no other choice but to trace in Spain the model that was giving so many triumphs in a forest in the Loire Valley in his native country,
France
, where it is a classic.
Not in vain, the name of Puy du Fou is that of one of the local castles.
The nightly 'show' of 'The dream of Toledo.'
In Toledo it is on its way to being one judging by the spectators who enjoyed it
last season:
600,000.
In this second one (which will run from today until January 8), his CEO,
Erwan de la Villéon
, hopes
to "exceed 750,000"
.
Among them, there is a large majority of people from Madrid, being 30 minutes by train and 50 minutes by car from the capital.
Not surprisingly, the novelties were officially presented at El Retiro with the participation of the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida.
"Giving life to popular culture and
the history of our country
through such beautiful shows seems fantastic to me," he assured.
The towns transport the visitor to another era.
To continue to attract the public, Puy du Fou will offer "more exclusive settings and corners, period villages and
authentic gastronomy
", comments De la Villéon.
In this sense, seven million euros have been invested in new artistic projects, as well as in the extension and improvement of decorations, lighting systems, sound and special effects or in the creation of
more open-air spaces,
among which different restoration stalls and
workshops with real craftsmen
who revive trades of yesteryear such as swordsmithing.
Moment of the falconry show.
Everything, in order to maintain the data of this
survey
carried out by the Group Qualimetrie institute: 98% of the attendees recommend a visit to the park, while 92% would repeat a second time.
In fact, it has already become
one more tourist attraction
for Toledo, as recognized by its own mayor, Milagros Tolón, who goes further: "It is a shock not only for the city, but for the entire country. It is not just about create employment, but to give a
spectacular life
to our History".
Popular gastronomy is present in the park.

Columbus's first voyage to the New World is the focus of the production of 'Allende la mar océana', while that of 'El Última Cantar' offers the most innovative and technological staging of Puy du Fou.
The only night show, 'El Sueno de Toledo', chosen as the best in Europe, will feature a larger audience this year.
