Three weeks after a spectacular attack on the shooting of the second season of the Netflix hit series "Lupin", the French police have launched investigations into seven suspects.

The teenagers and young men between the ages of 13 and 21 are accused of armed robbery and receiving stolen goods, the public prosecutor's office in Nanterre near Paris announced on Friday.

According to investigators, the suspects are known to the police.

Three of them have been taken into custody, the other four are under judicial supervision.

Some of the stolen film equipment was found during searches.

The police are also looking for other fugitive members of the gang.

Stolen goods worth 300,000 euros

At the end of February, around 20 hooded people attacked actor Omar Sy's team in Nanterre with fireworks.

According to the police, no one was injured in the attack in the Paris suburb, but the thieves stole material worth almost 300,000 euros.

In the series Lupin, Sy plays Assane Diop, a charismatic master thief who seeks revenge for his wrongly accused father.

In doing so, he engages in a cat-and-mouse game with the Paris police and is inspired by the adventures of the fictional character Arsène Lupin.

The French Netflix production quickly became the most-watched series on the streaming service in many countries, including Germany.

In September, Omar Sy became the only Frenchman to be included in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
