• A symposium entitled "Covid-19: first assessment of scientific knowledge and controversies" will be held at the IHU on March 30 and 31.

  • "This scientific symposium only brings together academics who do not repeat official speeches", presented Laurent Mucchielli, its scientific coordinator.

  • This symposium brings together popular figures of antivax.

Will the vaccination pass be required at the entrance?

Obviously not.

Firstly because it was lifted on March 14, then because the cast of this colloquium brings together some twenty researchers who have openly adopted positions that are, at best, critical of the management of pandemic and a certain scientific consensus.

Organized on March 30 and 31 on the premises of the IHU which, without organizing, “provides an amphitheater”, this symposium is entitled “Covid-19: first assessment of scientific knowledge and controversies”.

By the way, the controversial director of the IHU, Didier Raoult, will give the opening speech, without holding a presentation.

It was the sociologist Laurent Mucchielli, author of

La Doxa du Covid: Fear, health, corruption and democracy

, who launched the organization of this symposium, "a little over two months ago" and "took charge scientific coordination," he says.

“I have participated in about twenty conferences in my life, and the press has never called me before,” he was surprised.

“This scientific symposium brings together only academics who do not repeat official speeches,” he summarizes.

“Truth is temporary”

In the list of participants, there are, among others, Hélène Banoun, member of the Independent Scientific Council (CSI), Vincent Pavan, the president of the Réinfo Liberté association (structure behind the RéinfoCovid site), or Laurent Toubiana, who has remained in solidarity with the Hold-up documentary in which he participated and where he affirmed that the second wave "would not come", without however endorsing the "conspiratorial aspects", he indicated to

.

Another co-organizer of this symposium, the union "Teaching, research and freedoms" close to Louis Fouché, former resuscitator at the AP-HM, known for his antivax positions.

There are also contributions from advocates of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine treatments.

In short, organizations and academics with productions widely relayed in the covido-skeptical or antivax galaxies.

“The characteristic of science is that knowledge is not final.

There are discussions, controversies and the truth is provisional,” concludes Laurent Mucchielli.

At the time of the lifting of the vaccination pass and when the French are dropping the mask, the reality of the Coronavirus is, for the time being, that of an epidemic which is blazing again and which has caused more than 5.5 million deaths in the world.
