After a love story between a master's student and a "tuk-tuk" driver, her body was torn before the divorce session

Days before the couple's divorce petition is due to be heard in the court, a husband assaulted and dismembered his wife with a bladed weapon in the Gadag district of the Indian state of Karnataka.

The woman in the hospital is now struggling to survive.

Meanwhile, the husband was arrested.

According to what was circulated in the Indian press, the couple married in 2018 and had a two-year-old son, after they fell in love when "Apurva" enrolled in an MBA program at Karnataka University, while Ijaz was working as a rickshaw (tuktuk) driver in the area where live in it.

Only six months ago, Apurfa learned of Ijaz's first marriage and the two began arguing about it.

Finally, Apurva filed for divorce and the date of the hearing was set last Friday.
