From the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, the University of Orléans (Loiret) will offer a medical course for first-year students.

105 students will be able to follow the courses of the specific health access course (PASS), newly taught.

The Health Access Licenses (LAS) section will accommodate 355 people, compared to 265 previously, specifies France Bleu Orléans.

A complete course envisaged

60% of students entering the second year of the medical course come from the PASS stream and 40% from LAS.

It will very soon be possible to add these courses to the wishes expressed by high school students on Parcoursup.

Eventually, university officials also want to include the continuation of medical studies on the program.

This could be the case in the fall of 2023.

The mission commissioned by the Prime Minister should deliver its conclusions on the subject at the end of March, on which any future training will depend.

Medicine courses in Orléans are indeed offered as part of the commitments made by Jean Castex to fight against the medical desert in the region.
