Continuing to talk about climate change and environmental issues, I would like to address today a very important topic that may be a strong motive to raise awareness and start implementing practical practices at the level of individuals. The results of environmental pollution, and despite the huge number of conferences and discussion panels and the media momentum, there is still a large gap between the media scene and practical implementation, and environmental activities do not include all stakeholders and may focus only on those whose nature of work includes work in the field of environment, so there is an urgent need To include environmental education in all school curricula, as well as to allocate part of the media's time owned or supported by states towards consolidating the principles and practices of environmental education.

According to UNESCO, environmental education is concerned with organized efforts to spread awareness about various environmental issues, in particular the way we deal with the surrounding ecosystem, whether air, water, soil, or the consumption of available natural resources and waste management, so that we can live sustainably and in a safe environment. Environmental education from primary to university level, as well as concerned with efforts to educate the public, including printed materials, websites, media campaigns and all visual, audio and print media. It is a learning process that aims to increase people’s knowledge and awareness about the environment and the challenges associated with it. In developing the skills and expertise needed to meet the challenges and reinforce attitudes, motivations and commitments to make informed decisions and take responsible actions towards environmental conservation.

According to Dr. Hana Abdelaziz, Professor of Curriculum Principles, the 1975 Belgrade Charter summarized the objectives of environmental education in six goals: First: Awareness, that is, helping individuals and groups to gain effective awareness of the environment in all its aspects and the problems associated with it.

Second: Knowledge, which means providing an opportunity for individuals and groups to acquire a variety of experiences and to have a basic understanding of it and its related problems.

Third: Skills, related to helping individuals and groups acquire skills to identify and solve environmental problems.

Fourth: Attitudes and values, that is, providing individuals and groups with attitudes, values, feelings of concern for the environment and incentives for positive participation in its protection and improvement.

Fifth: Participation, that is, providing the opportunity for individuals and groups to participate at all levels in working to solve problems that are considered urgent problems that require taking appropriate measures for them. The problem of the ozone hole requires the assistance of all countries to solve it.

Sixthly:

Can the environmental education curriculum be included in all our educational curricula?

I imagine that this will be a strong start to make a qualitative shift towards understanding environmental issues, and the role of each of us in dealing with this crucial issue.
