On the afternoon of March 12, Zhang Liansan, executive deputy director of the Office of the Leading Group (Headquarters) for the Coordination of Epidemic Prevention and Control and Economic Operation of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, introduced that the epidemic in Shandong Province mainly occurred in 4 cities with a total of 6 transmission chains.

After epidemiology and genome sequencing, there are 3 distinct chains of transmission.

The genome sequence of the virus belongs to the evolutionary branch of Omicron BA.1.1. The three transmission chains are of different origin after the comparison by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

One is the 0301 epidemic in Huangdao District, the other is the 0307 epidemic in Huangdao District, and neither of the two epidemics has spillover; the third is the 0304 epidemic in Laixi City, Qingdao. In addition to Qingdao City, there are related cases in Laiyang City, Yantai.

0307 epidemic in Wendeng District, Weihai.

There are 20 confirmed cases and 146 asymptomatic infections.

The viral genome sequence is the BA.2 clade of Omicron.

Infected people are mainly concentrated in two points, one is a training class and the other is a bath.

At present, the scope of the epidemic is limited to Weihai City, and no spillover has occurred so far.

0308 epidemic in Zhoucun District, Zibo.

There are 8 confirmed cases and 15 asymptomatic infections.

The viral genome sequence is the BA.2 clade of Omicron.

In addition to the connection in Huantai County, Zibo, there are also cases in Weifang City.

  Dezhou Yucheng 0310 epidemic.

There are 16 confirmed cases and 8 asymptomatic infections.

The viral genome sequence is the BA.2 clade of Omicron.

The outbreak was concentrated in a certain company and has not yet spilled over.

Except for Qingdao City, which is the evolutionary branch of Omicron BA.1.1, other cities are the evolutionary branch of Omicron BA.2, which were compared by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
