In Italy, a coach carrying around 20 refugees from Ukraine crashed on the motorway, killing a woman.

The bus came off the road on Sunday morning on the A14 near Cesena near the Adriatic coast for an initially unknown reason and overturned on its side, the police said.

The fatality is a 32-year-old woman from Ukraine who was trapped on board the bus and succumbed to her injuries.

Another five occupants were injured, but not seriously, as the police specified.

There were also some children among the 20 or so travelers.

The fire brigade was involved in the salvage work, and they erected the bus on the side of the road with two special cranes.

The bus with a Ukrainian license plate had set off in the Eastern European country and had Pescara in Abruzzo as its destination.

There was a sign behind the windshield that read "Sonderfahrt" in Ukrainian, as shown in pictures of the accident.
