In Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, an event was held for elementary and junior high school students to ride a hot air balloon to commemorate their graduation.

In response to the fact that school events were canceled or reduced one after another due to the influence of the new coronavirus, parents of three elementary and junior high schools in Fuji City remembered about 160 sixth graders and third graders. It was planned to be made.

At the junior high school ground in the city, where the venue was held, children boarded the gondola in turn under the guidance of the pilot.

When the air inside was warmed by the burner, the balloon slowly rose and stayed at a height of about 15 meters with a rope attached for safety.

The children enjoyed waving to friends on the ground and looking at the scenery of Mt. Fuji and the sea.

The female students who participated said, "School life was restricted due to the corona disaster, but I had a good experience at the end" and "I hope everyone can continue to smile like this." ..

Takaki Fujita, chairman of the Obuchi Junior High School PTA, who organized the experience-based event, said, "Even if you graduate and your career path is different, don't forget the scenery you saw from today's sky."
