It was a duel between Cornelia Jakobs and Anders Bagge.

Cornelia Jakobs scooped the most points from the international jury groups while Anders Bagge won the viewers' hearts.

But when the points were added up, Jakobs was the winner.

After her name was announced as the winner, she collapsed in tears.

- Thank you, thank you to everyone who has voted, she exclaimed on the way up on stage.

This is the first time Cornelia Jakobs participates in the Melodifestivalen as a solo artist.

In 2011 and 2012, she performed with the group Love Generation.

The winning song Hold me closer is written by Cornelia Jakobs, Isa Molin and David Zandén.

After Måneskin's victory in the Eurovision song contest last year, this year's competition will be held in Turin, Italy.

Sweden will compete in the second semifinal on May 12 for a place in the final on May 14.
