China News Service, Ningbo, March 11th (Lin Bo Zhu Hai Sheng Luo Biao Zhuang Yuan) Former people planted trees, and later generations protected the forest.

With the perseverance of generations of foresters and forest rangers, green waters and green mountains can last forever.

Sun Guoliang, 65, is a forest ranger in Anshan Village, Hongtang Street, Jiangbei District, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province.

What he guards is the mountain forest in Anshan.

Although Anshan is only more than 300 meters above sea level, since he became a forest ranger of this mountain in 2009, Sun Guoliang has been patrolling the mountain every day for 13 years.

Putting on his helmet and holding a machete, Sun Guoliang set off. "The machete is an essential tool for patrolling the mountains. If a branch grows to the side of the road, it can be repaired with a knife. In case of a fire, the pine branches can be cut off. To put out fires."

Since it was a working day, there were relatively few people on the mountain, but Sun Guoliang was still very careful. As he walked, he saw a branch that "reached out" to the roadside.

On the way, Sun Guoliang met a couple who were climbing the mountain. Although no one smoked, he carefully reminded them not to smoke on the mountain. "It may be a bit unnecessary, but if you say one more reminder, you will feel more at ease."

Although Anshan is not high above sea level, it takes Sun Guoliang 3 hours to go back and forth each time.

When the weather is fine, he has to go up the mountain several times a day.

In the past 13 years, Sun Guoliang has worn out more than 40 pairs of shoes during his tour of the mountains.

For forest rangers, forest fire prevention is a major responsibility. "Our primary responsibility is to prevent the damage of wildfires to the forest. If you find that there is smoke, you have to rush to check it as soon as possible."

As the "protector of mountain forests", forest rangers must not only prevent wildfires, but also prevent people from stealing trees, report tree diseases and insect pests in time, and treat and report injured wild animals in time...

Every year from March 10 to April 10 is the peak period of tomb-sweeping during the Qingming Festival. It also coincides with the dry weather. A small spark may destroy the entire mountain forest, and the responsibility of the forest ranger is even heavier.

At this time, Sun Guoliang alone is not enough. Party members, village representatives and volunteers from the local village will also participate in the mountain tour.

"Everyone's awareness is improving now. The idea that green waters and green mountains are invaluable assets is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Everyone is very cooperative with our fire prevention and forest protection work, and the mountains and forests are getting more and more beautiful." Sun Guoliang said with a smile.

In Ningbo, there are 1,763 forest rangers like Sun Guoliang.

In addition, Ningbo has also established a "Forest Chief" management system covering the city, county, township and village levels.

There are 4,306 forest chiefs in the city. Together with the forest rangers, they guard the clear waters and lush mountains of Ningbo.
