6.11 million people aged 12 or above have received the first dose, accounting for 90.8% of the population group; 5.33 million people have received the second dose, accounting for 79.2% of the population group; 2.15 million people have received the third dose .

  Nie Dequan pointed out that the vaccination rate of the elderly is lower than the average level, and the vaccination rate of children aged 3 to 12 has reached 50%. The SAR government will make every effort to promote the vaccination of the elderly and children.

The SAR Government will continue to assign a special team to vaccinate the elderly in 1,096 public and private residential care homes for the elderly and residential care homes for the disabled in Hong Kong.

The SAR government is also actively planning to assign a special team to the community to provide door-to-door vaccination services for the elderly with limited mobility.

  Nie Dequan said that children are a key protection group, and the SAR government will continue to strengthen ties with schools, provide diversified and convenient vaccination routes, and increase the proportion of children vaccinated for the second dose.

  In addition, in response to the epidemic, the social distancing measures currently being implemented, including restaurants closing dine-in after 18:00, closing gyms, cinemas, beauty salons and other places, will be maintained until April 20.
