Recently, the ice surface of Bosten Lake, the largest inland freshwater lake in China that has been covered with dust for a winter, has begun to melt. The blue ice cubes like the sea and the reeds by the lake set off each other, like a heavy-colored oil painting.

Blue ice is pure ice in the form of large single ice crystals. The purer the ice, the bluer the color.

The blue ice in nature is generally the lower the salt content, the bluer the ice. Generally, the blue ice phenomenon mostly occurs in freshwater lakes and the temperature must be below minus 10.

In recent years, the natural scene of blue ice has often appeared in Sailimu Lake in Xinjiang.
