A small company of agents based in Stockholm is awash in offers from television or platforms like Netflix to broadcast the series of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the former comedian who has become the "hero" of his invaded country.

“We were overwhelmed.

All over the world, people are asking for the rights to broadcast it, ”explains Nicola Söderlund, co-founder of the company Eccho Rights, from the elegant premises of the SME installed in the center of the Swedish capital.

Since the first day of the invasion of Ukraine, Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, ANT 1 in Greece or even PRO TV in Romania have joined the television stations which had already negotiated the rights to the series Servant of the people born in 2015, like the Arte channel in France.

“We have signed about 15 agreements and about twenty more are in negotiations, explains the Swedish agent, the poster of the series framed above his desk.

We discuss with Latin America, with the United States, with Netflix, a lot of people.

In Italy alone, three or four buyers are currently vying for the rights.

In Greece, the series airs every night at prime time.

For him, "there is both solidarity with the Ukrainians and also curiosity to see who is" Zelensky, who changed in stature in a few days, impressing the whole world with his courage in the face of the Russian invasion .

New contracts “in the order of one million euros”
