“A trauma does not heal in ten times”, a sign held up by one of the 200 psychologists who gathered for the third time at Place de la République to denounce their working conditions.

If the therapists working in the hospital are mainly asking for an increase in staff and an increase in salaries, those working in the liberal profession denounce the system for reimbursement of psychiatric consultations which will soon be put in place by the government.

This platform, called "MonPsy" allows anyone over the age of three to benefit from eight 45-minute sessions with a psychologist reimbursed by Social Security and mutual insurance.

However, this device is subject to conditions.

Conditions that do not suit the psychologists who are demonstrating today.

A limited number of sessions and consultations at 30 euros

“The number of sessions is limited whereas patients would need to be monitored over time.

With this device, they will be forced to stop their follow-up because they are no longer reimbursed.

This can create a break in care, ”fears Adèle Bouston, a liberal and hospital psychologist who came to the event with colleagues.

If the number of consultations is limited, their amount is also limited.

Psychologists participating in the “MonPsy” system must not charge more than 40 euros for the first session and 30 euros for the following ones.

“It is to believe that the psychologists who charge sessions at 60 euros, or even more, do it to make a professional margin, which is completely false.

We, the liberals, we are at more than 50% of the charges.

At 30 euros per session, we have nothing left, ”says Lucie Désert, a young liberal psychologist and at the ADAEA.

A referral from the general practitioner

These two conditions are not the only ones to cringe.

General practitioners will have to make prescriptions in order to refer patients to private psychologists.

A kind of unprecedented medical prescription in the world of psychologists.

“This device negates our training.

We do five years of study with continuous training behind it throughout our lives, ”recalls Lucie Désert.

This addressing would also pose problems for people with psychiatric disorders.

"The patient should tell his story first to his doctor and then a second time to his psychologist, which can be prohibitive", laments Adèle Bouston, psychologist in liberal and hospital center.

Do you still need a doctor?

“More and more people do not have a doctor.

We know the saturation of general practitioners and the medical deserts, ”adds Isabelle Seff, psychologist in child psychiatry in Toulouse and member of the CGT-UFMICT.

“We are in favor of reimbursement of consultations by liberal psychologists by Social Security because it is part of access to care.

This is a real public health issue.

The device should be in place next month.

It remains to be seen whether it will be under current conditions.
