The Vice President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance and Director General of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, congratulated Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation (Mother of the Nation), on the occasion of International Women's Day. praising the support provided by Her Highness to Emirati women and their care at all levels.

She also extended her congratulations and blessings to the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Emirates Council for Gender Balance and President of the Dubai Women's Foundation, on this occasion, praising Her Highness' efforts to support Women and the consolidation of gender balance is a sustainable approach in all sectors of the country through qualitative initiatives and projects that translate the vision and directives of the wise leadership to enhance the role of women and raise the UAE’s global position in the file of gender balance.

She said that dedicating a women's day at the global level comes in appreciation of her efforts, giving and her indispensable role in achieving development, economic and social prosperity and political stability, and highlighting the challenges she faces in many societies and ways to overcome them.

She added that International Women's Day coincides this year with the UAE hosting an exceptional edition of the World Expo with the participation of 192 countries, and the Emirates Council for Gender Balance was keen to have a distinguished participation in this global event with the support and guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Through qualitative initiatives and projects implemented in cooperation with the Women’s Pavilion since the launch of the exhibition last October, with the aim of making a qualitative impact on the issue of gender balance at the international level.

She added, "Thanks to the support provided by the leadership and Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Emirati women have had, and still have, a prominent role as a change maker through their influential contributions at all levels in various sectors."
