Break down prejudices

This doodle was illustrated by Thoka Maer, the art director of this segment of Google.

She explained the pandemic had made life complicated, especially for women.

“The reality of the past two years has forced women to change direction, adjust their priorities and make sacrifices to be there for those in need,” says Thoka Maer.

"I want all women to be able to truly choose the lives they want to live... and receive all the respect they deserve."—@thokamaer, 🎨 artist of today's #IWD #GoogleDoodle

Through this doodle, the artistic director hopes that women around the world will feel valued.

The highlighting of Google is also linked to the theme of this day for 2022: "Break the bias", aimed at combating gender stereotypes.
