Fontenay-aux-Roses (Hauts-de-Seine) has decided to renew in 2022 the permanence set up to fight against rental evictions.

The municipality ensures that this device is the only one of its kind in the department.

It allows residents to challenge the decision forcing them to leave their accommodation, thanks to several types of frameworks.

A phenomenon on the rise

The assistance is particularly effective since, last year, nine of the ten families targeted by an eviction order were able to stay at home, reports

Le Parisien

.

The last case involved a squat.

This year, the stakeholders will be more solicited, since 34 homes could be thrown out after the winter break.

The system is based on municipal agents specially trained in the problem of evictions.

They advise tenants and take legal action.

Residents can then meet with lawyers and social workers during meetings at the town hall.

The objective is to provide practical but also moral help.
