According to an interview with an investigative official, the Yokohama District Public Prosecutor's Office has decided to conduct a mental assessment to examine criminal liability for a mother arrested for murdering her son in the first grade of elementary school in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

In August 2019, Ayano Ueda (42), a temporary employee in Yamato City, Kanagawa Prefecture, suffocated her second son, Yudai-kun (7), who was a first-year elementary school student, in a room in his apartment. He was arrested last month on suspicion of murder.

According to police, she has denied her charges against her investigation.

According to the investigation so far, at that time, I lived with a man who lived with Yudai-kun, but on that day the man was out and Ueda himself said, "My son collapsed because he had a chest pain." I know that I reported to the fire department.

According to an interview with an investigative official, the Yokohama District Prosecutor's Office has decided to request the court for "appraisal detention" in order to investigate her criminal liability.

If the request is approved, a psychological test will be conducted by an expert, and the prosecution will make a decision on the subsequent procedures based on the test results.

On the other hand, according to the child guidance center, the suspect had three other children, all of whom died at an early age.

Yudai-kun died after the second temporary protection was lifted, and the prefecture is verifying the response at that time.
