The event is held every year by an NPO corporation in Towada City, Aomori Prefecture, and about 20 people from outside the city participated in the fifth event.



Participants wore snowshoes, which were sometimes blown by strong crosswinds, and walked around Tsutanuma, which is located north of Lake Towada, for about three hours.

The area around the course is surrounded by virgin beech forests, and Hideo Takabuchi, who is investigating giant trees in the Tohoku region, introduced giant beech trees called "brilliant beech" because of their characteristic shape. rice field.
