Mick Jagger is currently producing a documentary about James Brown for A&E Network.

Called

James Brown: Say It Loud

, this four-part program will be broadcast in 2023, as revealed by the NME.

In a press release, the leader of the Rolling Stones said he was delighted to participate in this project which will return to the journey of one of his greatest idols.

“He was a brilliant showman who inspired me from the start and was deeply committed to the civil rights movement.

I have always admired James Brown and learned so much from him,” Mick Jagger wrote.

An icon

For drummer Questlove and rapper Black Thought, both founding members of the Roots, James Brown didn't just make music history forever.

He also profoundly influenced American culture as a whole.

“James Brown's life is a crucial story of struggles, redemption and faith in his own identity and we are honored to have the chance to share it,” wrote the two musicians in turn.
