The number of items that customs nationwide suspended importing as fake brand items last year increased by nearly 40% from the previous year due to the increase in large-scale imports.



Imitations of goods related to the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics and the popular manga "Kimetsu no Yaiba" are conspicuous.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the number of cases where customs nationwide suspended the import of fake brand products in the last year was more than 28,000, a decrease of 6.7% from the previous year.



On the other hand, the number of items suspended was more than 891,000, an increase of 39.1% from the previous year due to the large number of large-scale cases.



By country brought in, China accounts for 75.1% of the total score.



By type, clothing is the most popular item with more than 108,000 items, followed by electrical appliances such as earphones and bags.

Among the items that were suspended, there were imitations such as medals and mugs that used the emblem of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics held last year without permission, toys and stationery from the popular manga "Kiki no Blade", and Apple Inc. It means that imitations of made earphones were conspicuous.



The government has submitted a bill to the current Diet to regulate not only imports as a business but also imports by individuals regarding the crackdown on counterfeit brand products, and the policy is to tighten the regulations.
