Too much smoke.

Or not enough.

A chandelier positioned too high.

Or too low.

This Friday, from technique to choreography, it's time for the first rehearsals on the set of

Eurovision France, it's up to you

, in one of the studios in Plaine Saint-Denis.

During the live, this Saturday, from 9:10 p.m. on France 2, there will be no room for error.

The tables planned for the twelve songs in the running will have to be linked together with fluidity, so you have to refine, review, modify, stop and start again, even if it means going far beyond the 45-minute slot allocated, on paper, to each artist.

“I worked a lot upstream, but there are a lot of things to think about: accuracy, of course, but also the look, the attitude.

It puts a little pressure, ”says Joan, crossed at the exit of the set.

This 25-year-old artist was notably, a few years ago, on the boards, the title role of the musical

Emilie Jolie

.

An experience that helps her to embody her piece,

Madame

, where it is a question of a mad love leading the protagonist to madness.

Alexandra Redde-Amiel, who combines the caps of entertainment director of France Télévisions and head of the French delegation to Eurovision, closely observes these rehearsals.

“It's true that it's a lot of demands, a lot of work.

We want everything to be perfect.

You have to realize what is at stake for the artist who will win: France will have to be represented in the Eurovision final in Turin (Italy), on May 14, in front of more than 200 million viewers.

“This will be my first TV”

For some candidates, the emotions are increased tenfold because the show will be a baptism of fire.

“Everything is new to me.

It will be my first TV, the first time I sing this song in these conditions, live.

It's very exciting,” enthuses Marius, who will defend his chances with

Les chansons d'amour

.

The 22-year-old artist was inspired by the universe of his clip for the staging: a chair, light effects, a precise realization.

This simplicity and sobriety had worked for Barbara Pravi, last year, with

Voilà

, which met the fate that we know.

“She hatched on

Eurovision France

, advances Alexandra Redde-Amiel.

We claim the desire to find rough diamonds, chrysalises that will become butterflies.

Betting on developing artists is a real part of the program.

“The results should be very tight”

Saam, who recently signed with the Jo&Co label (that of Hoshi and Claudio Capeo), is one of those young talents whose career is still in the early stages.

While waiting to make a living from his music, he worked as a dental surgeon in Lille.

Behind the scenes, he says his "pleasure" to be there.

“I just rehearsed with my dancers for the first time.

At the beginning of my performance, they are motionless and, at the end, they have regained a good mood”, he explains, convinced that “this makes it possible to transcribe the message of [sa] song well”,

Where is it?

, talking about the importance of finding your child's soul and the simplicity of a smile.

He does not depart from his.

“There is a really good atmosphere here.

Between candidates and with the production, it's like a family.

In any case, it doesn't matter who wins: it will be a beautiful song that will be selected.

Saturday evening, it will be up to a jury of personalities, chaired by Jenifer, and to the viewers to judge and decide.

“The competition is very open this year and the results should be very tight, predicts Alexandra Redde-Amiel.

If I had any advice to give, it would be not to necessarily vote for the song that you would like to add to your playlist and to think about the one that can best correspond to what Europeans expect from France.

Tribute to Ukraine

Since this Friday, France Télévisions has been mobilizing its antennas in support of Ukraine.

In

Eurovision France, it's you who decide

, a tribute will be paid to the country invaded by Russia.

The program will open to the rhythm of

Pray for Ukraine

, a song by Zlata Ognevich, a Ukrainian artist who participated in Eurovision 2013. The tragedy that Ukraine is currently experiencing should also be evoked in another way during the show.
