In an effort to support Ukraine, where Russia's military invasion continues, a chopstick maker in Kumamoto Prefecture has begun selling chopsticks "Chopsticks for Peace," which are colored in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow.

All the sales will be donated to the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan, so the first reservation is sold out in just 2 hours and is attracting attention.

This is a plan by the bamboo chopsticks maker "Yamachiku" in Nankan Town, Kumamoto Prefecture, to express condolences to the Ukrainian people who were victims of the military invasion by Russia and their intention to fight back.

The chopsticks are made from locally produced "Moso Chiku" and are colored blue and yellow, which are the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and are named "Chopsticks for Peace".

All the sales will be donated to the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan, so when we started selling for 1000 yen per set at the company's online store this Monday, it got a response on SNS etc. and 150 sets for the first reservation Sold out in just 2 hours.

Shogo Yamazaki, managing director of "Yamachiku," said, "I'm glad that there are many people who are surprised and sympathize with the magnitude of the response. I would like to continue to support them by making chopsticks."

Since there are many people who want to purchase it, we will sell an additional 800 sets, and we will accept reservations at the online store from the 4th.
