Before the Tokyo Marathon was held on the 6th of this month, the reception of citizen runners started on the 3rd, and the visitors had undergone a PCR test as a countermeasure against the infection of the new corona and then accepted.

The Tokyo Marathon, which will be held on the 6th of this month for the first time in about two years, is expected to be attended by about 20,000 people, including citizen runners selected by lottery.

At Tokyo Big Sight in Koto-ku, Tokyo, acceptance of citizen runners began on the 3rd, and the first was accepted by the talent Wakana Fukushima.

As a countermeasure against infection of the new corona, all runners will undergo a PCR test, and it is a condition of participation to manage body temperature and physical condition from 10 days before the competition with a dedicated application.

Mr. Fukushima submitted a test kit containing a sample and was checked by the staff to see if he was managing his body temperature.

After that, a large number of citizen runners visited the venue, and after being inspected, they received the number cards to wear on the day.

Mr. Fukushima said, "I'm glad that the tournament was held with the efforts of many people in various difficult situations. I want to run with a smile until the end."
