The Germans have so far donated more than 34 million euros to Ukraine through the “Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft” and the “Aktion Deutschland Hilft”.

Since last Thursday, the alliance organizations across Germany have been calling for donations for people in need in Ukraine.

The "Alliance Development Helps" has already collected 26 million euros, according to the organization, the figures come from Monday.

The "Aktion Deutschland Hilft", which continues to accept individual donations, recorded an additional eight million euros.

"The willingness to donate and solidarity from Germany is still overwhelming," said a spokeswoman.

The money will be used primarily for the procurement of relief supplies and support on site and during flight.

The two alliance organizations together consist of over 30 aid organizations, including Plan International, the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund and Kindernothilfe.

Together they plan and organize humanitarian aid in Ukraine and the neighboring countries of Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland.

The need for help is still great - both in the contested areas, as well as on the escape routes and in the emergency shelters in the border area.

The alliance collects the joint donations at www.spenderkonto-nothilfe.de.

In addition to the alliance organizations, there are numerous private collections and collections of individual aid organizations.

The German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) provides information that should be considered when making a selection.

For example, it recommends monetary donations instead of material donations and awards organizations with the "DZI donation seal" to emphasize their eligibility for funding.

The Institute has also published a list of verified fundraising campaigns.
