The director of the reserve, Ahmed bin Hayay Al-Mansoori, said that during this season (2021/ 2022), the reserve attracted more than 1,500 falconers and traditional hunting enthusiasts, as more than 3,000 bustards were hunted, through falconry trips that took place through them. He pointed out that the most prominent visitors to the reserve are falconers and saluki hunting enthusiasts from the UAE, the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a number of Arab and foreign countries, who visit the reserve, with the aim of enjoying the nature and the picturesque environment that characterizes the reserve, and practicing traditional hunting sports and training birds and greyhounds in a safe and appropriate environment. And within the framework of sustainable hunting, and in line with the Hunting Law in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, pointing out that the reserve offers deer game as an encouragement to Arab greyhound hunting enthusiasts, and also allows the possibility of providing falcons for those who do not have falcons and wish to practice falconry.

The reserve provides a safe environment for falconers and traditional hunting enthusiasts, and brings the distance closer to them through the presence of a reserve specialized in traditional hunting in the Al Dhafra region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which is approximately 120 km from Abu Dhabi city, and covers an area of ​​923 square km. This has contributed to attracting falconers, families and tourists, as well as Young people to practice falconry and desert physiognomy, which serves the reserve’s mission to preserve the Emirati heritage and national identity.

The reserve also provides Houbara from well-known breeding centers, not from the wild, and provides the opportunity for falconry within a legal and controlled framework, as hunting Houbara in the wild is illegal, so it is provided legally from breeding centers, within an approved and regulated framework, ensuring The demand for it by falconers, pointing out that after the end of the season, more birds and animals are released than the numbers that were caught, in cooperation with the breeding centers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Visiting Al Marzoom Hunting Reserve is not limited to traditional hunting only.
