Yamagata Prefecture announced on March 1 that it was confirmed that 215 new people were infected with the new coronavirus.
According to the prefecture, two people who were confirmed to be infected died on February 27.
The total number of people confirmed to be infected in Yamagata Prefecture was 11,820, and the number of people who died from the infection was 67.
