Morocco.. Imprisonment for a police officer working in a drug trafficking gang

Hespress website revealed that a Moroccan court in Rabat sentenced a police officer who was working in the border guards in Tangiers to ten years in prison after being convicted of involvement in the activity of a criminal gang that engaged in drug trafficking, in partnership with his brother, the employee.

The Tangier police had referred the arrested officer, his brother and three other people to the competent Public Prosecution, on suspicion of being involved in the activities of a criminal network linked to the promotion of hard drugs. They were followed up in a case of arrest before the court issued its rulings in this case.

The police indicated that "the arrest of these suspects came in the wake of a security operation launched by the National Judicial Police Brigade in the light of accurate information provided by the interests of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, as part of its efforts to confront the dangers of crime in all its forms and forms."
