Another person was seriously injured in an attack in Düsseldorf's old town on Shrove Monday.

According to police, an 18-year-old was stabbed with a knife.

Three suspects are on the run.

It was only on Sunday that a previously unknown person in the old town, a few hundred meters from the current crime scene, stabbed three young people, some of them life-threateningly.

The search is still ongoing here.

According to a police spokeswoman, around 9:20 p.m., three young men bumped into the later victim.

One punched the eighteen-year-old in the face, then someone rammed a knife into his stomach.

The young man underwent surgery, according to the police there was no danger to life.

The police had complained about the high level of aggressiveness in the old town during the carnival.

On Shrove Monday, there was such a crowd on the banks of the Rhine on the edge of the old town that the city had to put up additional fences so that nobody fell into the water.
