The "Asama-Sansou Incident" was held 50 years ago on February 19, 1972, when five members of the United Red Army took the caretaker's wife as a hostage at "Asama-Sansou" in Karuizawa, which was a recreational facility for a musical instrument company. Finally, the Nagano Prefectural Police and the Metropolitan Police Department's MTF members rushed in and rescued the hostages.
At the time of rescue, Captain Naotaka Uchida of the 2nd riot police who belonged to the Security Bureau of the Metropolitan Police Department and Shigemitsu Takami of the special vehicle corps died.
