Freshly harvested wakame seaweed was sold at a fishing port in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, and this was done in a "drive-through format" as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus.

In Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture, where farmed wakame seaweed is produced, the harvest season has begun, and on the morning of the 27th, wakame seaweed freshly harvested at the Michikawa fishing port was sold.

Since the infection of the new corona is spreading this year, it was done in a "drive-through format" in which products were handed over through the window of the car, and many cars lined up early in the morning.

At the venue, 1 ton of wakame seaweed harvested on the 26th was packed in bags of 1.5 kg and sold for 1000 yen, and visitors were buying one after another.

A woman in her 40s who visited from Akita City said, "I've been looking forward to it because the number of people infected with the new corona has increased and I've been refraining from going out recently. With drive-through, I can rest assured that there is little contact with people. I was talking.

Mr. Mitsutsugu Kanamori, Chairman of the Michikawa Umi Forest Creation Promotion Council, said, "This wakame seaweed is good, soft and delicious. It is popular, so I would like to continue the sales event in the future."

The sales event will be held on the 6th of next month.
