Al Kindi, who holds a master’s degree in art history and museum sciences from the Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, and is currently seeking another master’s degree in research in Islamic arts from the Sorbonne University in Paris, explained that the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s attracting workers of different nationalities enriches the work. It gives everyone an opportunity to benefit from the experiences of others.

She added: "(Louvre Abu Dhabi) is a world-class museum, with what it tells of the story of human civilizations through various arts, and it is natural that the work team in it reflects this global character, and as every visitor to the place sees a part of his civilization and history in the displayed pieces, we also have a large team from different All over the world, each of them presents a different perspective on his work, which enriches the work as a whole.”

She pointed out that the museum's trustees department is concerned with art collections with a focus on historical holdings, in terms of preserving them and supervising their restoration. Al-Kindi stated that she joined the work team at the Louvre Abu Dhabi before its opening, and had not yet finished her studies, and received her training at the Rodin Museum in Paris, in addition to that she is also a graduate of the New York Academy of Film Industry and Central Saint Martins College, University College in London, as well. She is preparing a research on Arabic calligraphy for which the regions within the borders of the Islamic world are famous, and has previously prepared a paper on the active participation of young people in cultural institutions, as they are an indispensable group in efforts to advance museums and make them an attractive destination for all members of society.

She explained that she did not face any difficulty during her work, especially that her field of work is the same as her academic specialization, and that the internal work mechanism and procedures are similar in most museums around the world with minor differences.

And about the impact of the “Covid-19” pandemic on the museum work in general, and in “Louvre Abu Dhabi”, she said: “Just as the entire world was affected by the pandemic, the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the rest of the museums around the world were affected by it, and we had to close our doors like the rest of the tourist places in the country completely. , then we returned to the opening of permanent exhibitions, during the pandemic, while adhering to the preventive measures imposed by the official authorities to limit the spread of the virus, and the same applies to temporary exhibitions, which the museum has resumed organizing, taking into account the establishment of various controls during the coordination of these exhibitions such as avoiding touching the displayed pieces, Or exclude activities that require interaction.

And she considered that the impact of the pandemic on the museum sector was not absolutely negative, as many sectors such as museums, researchers, research and museum institutions tended to launch a lot of information and educational workshops through the digital space, and exhibitions became open to the public with the click of a button, which provided the opportunity for large numbers of the public.
