The film was produced by the Propaganda Department of the Yunnan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, with Zhang Heping as the chief planner, screenwriter Liu Heng, directed by Wang Qiang, starring Yuan Wenkang and Wang Xi, and Deng Chao as a special star. With rural revitalization as the background, the film shows the front-line work in rural revitalization through a unique perspective. The staff never forget the warm story of their original intention, dedication and perseverance.

  Different from previous films focusing on rural revitalization work, "You Are My Light" does not directly feature poverty alleviation cadres as the protagonists, but records his life in the countryside from the perspective of a bystander, Mu Xixin (played by Yuan Wenkang). What I saw and heard, and the warm stories that happened around me.

With the progress of the film's plot, different characters on the grass-roots front of rural revitalization are also reflected - the village secretary who sticks to his post and is brave and dedicated, the village doctor who resolutely returned to his hometown to support the construction of rural health care, and returned to his hometown to start a business to lead the villagers out of poverty. The director of the village committee who got rich... In the beautiful picture, the story of their selfless dedication, love and warmth is told with a singing competition as a clue throughout the film.

  In the film, Deng Chao played the role of the first secretary of the village for the first time, breaking through the previous image and creating a poverty alleviation secretary dedicated to the countryside.

The film pays tribute to the millions of poverty alleviation cadres in the work of poverty alleviation, who have dedicated themselves, worked hard, and sacrificed their precious youth and even their lives.
