As part of the investigation into the "Münster" abuse complex in Hamburg, the police arrested another suspected child rapist.

The 58-year-old was arrested in his apartment in the Billstedt district on Thursday a week ago, the police said on Thursday.

He is now in custody.

The public prosecutor's office in Hamburg had previously obtained a search warrant and an arrest warrant from the district court in Hamburg.

The 58-year-old is said to have sexually abused a nine-year-old child in Billstedt in April 2019.

According to the current status of the investigation, the main perpetrator from North Rhine-Westphalia, who has already been arrested, was also involved.

The 58-year-old is also said to have received child pornography from him.

The suspect was in the focus of the police in connection with the work of the investigative commission "Rose" from Münster.

According to the information, numerous pieces of evidence were seized during the execution of the search warrant, during which detectives from North Rhine-Westphalia were also present.

In the "Münster" abuse complex uncovered in 2020, children were raped in a gazebo in Münster and other places.

So far, the police have identified more than 30 victims and located over 50 suspects, some of whom have already been convicted.

The police in Münster had secured a total of 1.5 million gigabytes of data documenting the crimes.
