Retrial of the so-called "Hakamada Incident" that occurred in Shizuoka Prefecture more than 50 years ago = It is necessary for the prosecution to conduct an independent experiment on the new appraisal result submitted by the defense to redo the trial. It turns out that he has submitted a written opinion to the court arguing that it is not considered new evidence.

Iwao Hakamada (85) was sentenced to death in 1966 when four members of his family were killed in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City. Public discussions are underway.

In the case, about a year after the arrest, clothing with blood stains was found in the miso tank near the scene, and it was alleged that Mr. Hakata was wearing it at the time of the crime.

In November last year, the defense submitted a new expert testimony, claiming that evidence was forged, saying that "clothes soaked in miso for more than a year cannot have redness of blood." ..

According to an interview with the people concerned, it was found that the prosecution submitted a written opinion to the court on the 24th.

According to the opinion, the prosecution conducted an experiment in which a cloth with blood stains was dipped in miso from September last year, and as a result, under certain conditions such as a large amount of blood adhering to the miso, the blood stains even after 4 to 5 months. It is said that there was a marked redness.

He also argues that there is a good chance that redness will remain in the blood stains that have been soaked in miso for a long period of time, and that the defense's test results are not recognized as new evidence necessary for re-trial.

The next round of talks will be held on the 14th of next month.
