The father of the girl, who was given the name "Egypt", said in an incident that is the first of its kind, due to his strong love and attachment to his country, as he traveled to Kuwait about 5 years ago to work in the field of accounting.
He said that his relatives were surprised when they learned of his intention to give this name to his daughter, "My family were all surprised by the name, but I preferred to see them until they were convinced of it," according to the newspaper "Al-Watan".
He continued, "I came across many comments, surprised by the name, I do not know why, although there are people who call Mecca and people call Sham," stressing that these comments did not dissuade him from his irreversible decision, and that he loves his daughter's name very much: "This name is my life, I will never change it."
As for her mother, according to him, she is the only one who agreed with his opinion on naming the baby girl Egypt: “At first, she was against me and told me to call her a normal name, but when the girl was born and she shaved off, she forgot everything.”
