On February 23, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Maobo, released the "Government Budget for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year".

Chen Maobo said that the SAR government will use all the forces and resources it can mobilize to stabilize and control the epidemic.

  It is reported that the anti-epidemic appropriations in the new budget mainly include five aspects: an additional allocation of about HK$22 billion to the Food and Health Bureau (Food and Health Bureau) of the SAR Government to increase testing efforts, purchase rapid test kits and related supporting facilities services; allocate an additional HK$6 billion to the Department of Health to purchase additional vaccines and inject boosters for citizens; allocate a total of nearly HK$7 billion to relevant departments to purchase anti-epidemic and anti-epidemic materials and services, and implement anti-epidemic measures, etc.; The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department has allocated a total of HK$500 million in two years to strengthen environmental sanitation services; and injected HK$12 billion into the "Anti-epidemic Fund" to build various anti-epidemic and anti-epidemic facilities.
