He had a good reason to be in a hurry.

On the night of Tuesday February 22 to Wednesday February 23, the police in Annecy (Haute-Savoie) chased a motorist who had just run a red light in front of them, in the middle of the night, around 4 a.m., reports

The mother-to-be had her waters broken

Despite the flashing lights, the man continued on his way for several hundred meters before being intercepted by officials.

The latter found a panicked driver who explained to them that his wife was about to give birth and that they were going to the hospital. 

The woman was indeed present in the car and her water broke.

The police then forgot about the offense and escorted the couple to the nearest maternity ward to ensure their safety.

The mother-to-be was taken care of and her companion escaped without a report.
