Briefing request in the Egyptian Parliament: "Ibrahim Issa dared to recite the verses of the Noble Qur'an"

The Secretary of the Religious Affairs Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives, Representative Muhammad Abu Hashem, submitted a request for a briefing to Counselor Hanafy Jabali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, addressed to the Prime Minister and head of the National Media Authority, regarding the statements of the media personality Ibrahim Eissa in his program broadcast on Al-Qahera Wal-Nas channel. Which dealt with a denial of the incident of Al-Isra and Al-Miraj.

The Egyptian newspaper “Al-Shorouk” quoted Abu Hashem as saying in the request for briefing: “Ibrahim Issa dared to denounce the verses of the Noble Qur’an, by his denial of the Qur’anic stories, and his saying that these stories are legends and not truth, and he underestimated the verses of the Noble Qur’an, and danced on them in his saying, the Most High: He perished from me Sultanah) Verse No. 29 Surat Al-Haqqah, in one of the episodes of his program, Hadith Al-Qahirah.

He called the Secretary of the Religious Affairs Committee in the Egyptian House of Representatives to discuss his request within the committee.

The Egyptian Public Prosecutor, Counselor Hamada Al-Sawy, had ordered that investigation procedures be taken into the communications submitted to the Public Prosecution against the journalist Ibrahim Issa.

The Egyptian Public Prosecution said in a statement that it will announce later the results of the investigations.

Two days ago, the Egyptian government newspaper Al-Ahram reported that lawyer Fahmy Bahgat submitted the first report to the Egyptian Attorney General, Hamada El-Sawy, demanding that an investigation be opened with Ibrahim Issa, the journalist, on accusations of "disrespecting the Islamic religion, denying its principles and spreading false news."

The statement stated that "Ibrahim Issa used to attack and insult the imams of the Muslims and the Companions, led by Imam Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, Omar bin Al-Khattab, Abdullah bin Abbas, Al-Bukhari, Al-Shaarawi and others.

And the statement continued, "Ibrahim Issa claimed that Ramadan fasting has no benefit other than that it is a sovereign decision from God in a grave abuse of the divine, and Issa used to repeatedly abuse and challenge the principles of the Islamic religion without any accountability or legal accountability."

The statement stressed that "the last of these abuses is the denial of the journey of Isra and Mi'raj mentioned in the Holy Qur'an, with the aim of casting doubt on it and in the sayings of the Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace."
