“Explorer”, “adventurer”, “adventurer”... In the collective imagination, the vocabulary of travel is often masculine, yet women are also taking to the road and there are even more and more of them.

Advertising

Some have even made it a real way of life.

Evidenced by their travel stories, advice blogs and forums found on the web.

According to the World Tourism Organization, there were 139 million female travelers in 2017 compared to 59 million three years earlier.

Traveling alone when you are a woman is not trivial.

Fear, security, social pressure, … some do not dare to take the plunge.
